Service Sire: Peruvian Kwanzaa
Date Bred: May 17, 2006
I hand picked Rebecca from the Berry Acres Production Sale for her fleece characteristics, combined with her large size. Today, she measures 45 inches at the withers and a commanding 71.5 inches at the poll. Her unusual pale honey-colored fleece is consistent from shoulder to rear in wavy locks which have an exquisite handle and great fiber uniformity. I only wish I had Keured her before slick shearing her! Her daughter, Rockin Ruby, is ample validation that she can produce extraordinary suris, and remains at WoodsEdge as one of our treasured young females. Ruby’s first fleece had a 21.8 micron count while her second fleece is a highly evolved pearled lock, which suri alpaca breeders will even appreciate. In my opinion, with 30 years of fiber breeding experience, Rebecca has fleece traits which are extremely important to add to a suri breeding program. Rockin Ruby Keured into the SLA registry with Star Status, allowing Rebecca to be Keured as Bloodstock at this time. Rebecca is bred back to Peruvian Kwanzaa, which should produce yet another exceptional suri!
