A flock of Shetland lambs just arrived at WoodsEdge! With the help of Rare Breeds Survival Trust, a group of 31 Shetland sheep came into North America in 1980 from the Shetland Isles, and they have increased in population in the U.S.A ever since! The Shetland fleece has more variety in color than any other breed of sheep and the fine fleeces are compatible with alpaca. Any visitor to the U.K has undoubtedly heard of the wedding ring shawls that are made from this fleece - these lace shawls are fine enough to pull through a wedding ring.

Look for more "News from the Ewes" this fall as we debut some of our Shetland products!
